OMNI Consulting Solutions is Hiring a Strategic Communications Specialist Near Washington, VA

The Strategic Communications Specialist shall serve as a technical expert in internal communications strategy development, planning, and execution within VBA and HCS. The Strategic Communications Specialist shall direct and lead portfolio communications and campaign rollouts by developing robust communications plans that incorporate products and channels to fully engage the workforce on key agency priorities. 

Provide technical assistance and direct support on a variety of matters relating to communication programs to meet mission requirements and update the team on key dependencies or conflicts and regularly review external communications efforts to provide recommendations on potential internal communications solutions.

Review all products for content accuracy against information provided, before returning the finished product to the Government. Additionally, the Strategic Communications Specialist shall copy-edit products supplied by the Government, questioning all potential misspellings or obvious grammatical errors or inconsistencies, to ensure that the finished product is correct and as desired.

Provide suggestions on text edits to improve readability or organization of information.

1. Strategizing communications and leading the development of agency workforce communications and engagement that aligns with the mission, core values, strategic goals and priorities of the agency.

2. Identifying and collaborating with internal and external stakeholder populations—including collaborating with government and/or non-government stakeholders—for engagement, conducting client consultations, building coalitions, and advising product owners to ensure understanding of communications and marketing strategies and resolve related problems.

3. Advanced analytical skills, superior written and oral communications skills, and experience in building coalitions and collaborating with government and/or non-government stakeholders.

4. Collaborating with HCS to oversee the development and management of strategic communications as coordinated products, such as websites, print products, podcasts, social media, newsletters, and infographics.

5. Conducting assessments of existing communications and marketing plans and performing research to inform the development of new communications plans and products.

6. Developing detailed communications campaigns, plans and products, including strategic overviews, targeted routine and ad hoc products.

7. Writing, editing, proofreading and improving briefing tools—including presentations, talking points, reports, and information papers—email, correspondence, executive tasks, web site material, newsletters, articles, documents, and other materials designed to communicate complex technical information for a non-technical audience.

8. Reviewing communications for content, clarity, grammar, punctuation, style, and plain language.

9. Demonstrating ability in graphic design to communicate program initiatives.

10. Disseminating and presenting information to a range of audiences.

11. Managing multiple projects simultaneously, working with minimal supervision, using individual discretion and judgment, and competing deadlines.

Minimum, either a B.A./B.S. degree or an M.A./M.S. in communications, media, writing, business, law, or a related degree and demonstrate a minimum of five (5) years of experience. 

Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word
